Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out what may be sent through the platform. It is part of the Terms of Service, and the rules about where recipient addresses come from are the ones that most often lead to an account being suspended.

01Why this policy exists

Sending reputation is shared. On a shared IP pool, one sender mailing a purchased list damages delivery for every other customer sending from the same addresses. Even on a dedicated IP, a blocklist entry attracts attention to the whole range.

So this policy is not a formality. It is the mechanism that keeps the platform able to deliver mail at all, and we enforce it.

03Lists that are never permitted

Regardless of what the seller claims, you may not send to:

  • purchased or rented lists — there is no such thing as a compliant bought list;
  • scraped or harvested addresses, from websites, social networks, directories, whois records or anywhere else;
  • addresses generated or guessed, including role-address patterns at a known domain;
  • lists acquired with a business, unless the original consent covered the entity now sending;
  • addresses from a third party who collected them for their own purposes and passed them on.
Addresses obtained this way are how senders hit pristine spam traps — addresses published solely to catch list buyers and scrapers. They never bounce and never complain, so the first sign of a problem is a blocklist entry. An account that hits one will be suspended while the list source is established.

04Content that may not be sent

You may not use the platform to send:

  • phishing, credential harvesting, or anything impersonating another person, business or institution;
  • malware, or links to it;
  • content that is unlawful in the sender's or recipient's jurisdiction;
  • content that sexually exploits or endangers children;
  • harassment, threats, or material inciting violence or hatred;
  • fraudulent offers, deceptive claims, pyramid or matrix schemes;
  • misleading headers, forged sender identities or deceptive subject lines — the From name, address and subject must accurately describe the sender and the message;
  • content promoting goods or services you are not lawfully able to sell to that recipient.

Some categories are not prohibited but need prior discussion because they attract heavy filtering and affect shared infrastructure: cryptocurrency and other high-risk financial promotion, gambling, adult content, lead generation, pharmaceuticals, and debt or credit repair services. Contact us before sending at volume in these categories.

05Unsubscribe and suppression

  • Every marketing message must contain a working, obvious unsubscribe that does not require the recipient to log in, reply, or complete more than one step.
  • Bulk mail must carry List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post headers, honoured within two days. The major mailbox providers require this independently of us.
  • Unsubscribes, complaints and hard bounces must be honoured. The platform suppresses them automatically; you may not work around suppression by re-importing an address, using a second account, or switching domain.
  • A complaint is permanent, across every stream on the account. Someone who marked your mail as spam does not get a second campaign.

06Technical conduct

You may not:

  • share, resell or sublicense access without our written agreement;
  • attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas or suppression;
  • send through a domain you do not control, or publish authentication records that misrepresent who is sending;
  • use the platform to relay mail originating from another system in a way that hides its true source;
  • probe, scan or test the platform's security without written permission, or interfere with its operation;
  • use automated means to create accounts or claim multiple free allowances.

07Complaint and bounce thresholds

These are the levels at which we intervene. They are below the published limits of the major mailbox providers on purpose: by the time a provider acts, the damage is done.

SignalWe reviewWe may suspend
Spam complaint rateabove 0.08%above 0.2%
Hard bounce rateabove 3%above 8%
Spam trap hitanypristine trap, immediately
Unknown-recipient rateabove 3%above 10%

A high bounce rate on a first send usually means the list was not validated, or was not collected by you. Both are worth resolving before volume increases.

08How we enforce this

Depending on what we find, we may:

  • contact you and ask for the source of a list;
  • rate-limit the account while a problem is investigated;
  • move the account to a separate IP so other customers are not affected;
  • suspend sending;
  • terminate the account and report it where the law requires.

Where circumstances allow, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Where sending is causing active harm we suspend immediately and explain straight afterwards — a compromised account sending spam does more damage with every minute it continues.

If your account is suspended you will be told what triggered it. Tell us what the cause was and what you have changed; a specific answer is what gets an account reinstated, and it is also what a blocklist operator will want.

09Reporting abuse

If you have received mail sent through this platform that breaches this policy, send it — including full headers — to abuse@bookmyspot.us.

Headers are what identify the sending account; a forwarded body usually cannot. Reports are read the same day and acted on rather than acknowledged and filed, and you will get a reply telling you what happened.

Questions about this document: legal@bookmyspot.us. Abuse reports go to abuse@bookmyspot.us and reach a person.
